Educating the Whole Child

Year 3 camp continues...day two!

We are pleased to report yet another fantastic overnight stay at Sladen Green. A big shout out must go to Mr Sherfield who is entering his third consecutive day at the camp and indeed his second consecutive overnight stay! The children are coming back absolutely buzzing about their experience and have so many highlights they want to share. The food has definitely been up there with one of the top mentions, alongside the camp fire and all of the forest games. I must also mention the two dogs which you may have spotted in some of the pictures, they have been a great addition for pupils and staff alike! A big thank you to members of staff from other year groups too who have been joining the year threes on their camp – they have been so lucky with all of the adult support they have had! Mr Coleman no longer likes birds – after one particular member of the species kept him up for a majority of the night, and here was us thinking it was the kids that were going to be doing that?! We have been so fortunate with the weather and long may it continue! The children coming back from camp have been exhausted but absolutely buzzing with excitement. We’d be lying if we told you there hasn’t been any one dropping off the next day in school ;-) But the DVD has helped to alleviate any pressure of them having to do any Maths or English after only a few hours’ sleep! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for tomorrow’s update on tonight.
