This week year 3 have been lucky enough to get a taste of what it is like to work on a farm. The children, teachers and helpers came back into school buzzing, beaming and chattering non stop about their visit.
The children had the chance to pick up chicks, hold a barn owl, feed the pigs and buffalo, learn about milking and how it gets into the shops, they observed cheese and butter making, they met a deer-stalker, did some gardening, pulled up some veggies, saw tractors and much more. Wow what a treat and a marvellous learning opportunity! The weather was also good to them which was great. The pictures below say it all! Awe and wonder at its best!
We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Jo Britton for organising this successful event and a huge thank you must also go out to Mr and Mrs Scheckter who have supported our school visit to the farm. We shall certainly be going back next year with our new Year 3s.
