At Anton Junior School, one of our school values is pride. We want all children to take pride in and care over the work they produce and value their learning. Therefore, we have high expectations around presentation and handwriting in all subjects. Adults across the school model cursive handwriting that is consistent in size and style. Twice a week, a short handwriting lesson is delivered through a program called letter join. Children are taught how to form letters and numbers correctly, as well as being given an opportunity to practise writing longer passages.
Each of the areas of our English curriculum are very interlinked and all feed into one another. Some lessons may have more of a focus on a particular area of English, but more often than not lessons will involve every aspect of the curriculum.
