Boys Football Match Report - Anton Vs Whitchurch (January 2024)

After the disappointment of having the first game called off due to a frozen pitch, the boys were excited to kick start our Andover League campaign. We came up against some strong opposition (Whitchurch C of E Primary School) and despite winning the game 2-0, what impressed me the most was their work rate and the leadership that every single one of them showed on the pitch.

On Thursday 25th January year 6 boys had a football game vs Whitchurch. Our team played superbly well, we won 2-0 and our goalkeeper kept a clean sheet. Riley got one goal in the 25th minute and Freddie got a goal in the 38th minute. Luke

They didn’t take their chances well, but we did take our chances better. But overall we played better. We played better for 30 minutes out of the 40 minutes we played. Freddie

In the first half, they missed a lot of their chances and we were lucky to go into half time at 0-0. Then I scored to make it 1-0, after that their heads dropped and we took our chances better than them. Towards the end of the game Freddie made it 2-0 with an excellent shot into the top right corner. Riley

Hockey Match Report (November 2023)

A huge well done to the children who represented Anton Junior School at the John Hansen Hockey Tournament on November 28th. The children braved chilly conditions finishing second in their group and eighth overall in a very competitive events. All the children were representing the school for the first time and were all amazing ambassadors for our school!

Basketball Match Report (December 2023)

A massive congratulations to the children who represented Anton Junior School at the Andover Pyramid Sports Basketball Festival. The children were all brilliant ambassadors for our school earning the Respect and Teamwork awards. It was great to see so many children representing the school for the first time. We are always so proud to see our children being recognised for the wonderful individuals that we know they are.

Girls Football Match Report (September 2023)

On Wednesday, our year 5/6 girls’ football team participated in their first tournament of 2023 hosted by Knights Enham Junior School. Our team played superbly and only conceded 1 goal the whole tournament! Their skills, teamwork and determination was simply amazing to see.

“The match was great and we only lost one game. We all did really well. When everyone scored we celebrated and it made everyone so happy. Our first match I was quite nervous because the team we were playing had just won 2-0. Georgia saved so many great shots and only conceded one goal.” Lacey

“In the first match we won 1-0 against Clatford and Layla scored it. In the second game we played Knights Enham and we won 4-0, I scored 2, Layla scored 1 and Janka scored 1. By the end of the tournament I scored 5. Layla scored 4/5, Janka scored 1, Savannah scored 1 and Mabel scored 1.  Isla

“Yesterday, I was very happy that I got chosen to be captain. I scored in one of the matches. Also out of six games we lost one. We came 3rd in the tournament.” Savannah
