Our Vision for Music
At our school, we believe that music is a powerful and expressive art form that enriches children’s lives and supports their personal and cultural development. Our vision is for every child to see themselves as a musician; confident in creating, performing, listening to and responding to music.
Through a carefully sequenced curriculum, our children will develop an understanding of music as an art form, exploring how it communicates ideas, emotions, and identity across different cultures, styles, and historical periods. Children are taught to listen attentively, sing, play instruments, compose and perform, building both technical skills and musical understanding.
We aim to foster a lifelong love of music by providing rich and inclusive musical experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and enjoyment. Music lessons encourage collaboration, self-expression and resilience, allowing our children to develop confidence and a sense of achievement.
By the time our children leave us, they will have a secure foundation of musical knowledge and skills, an appreciation of music in its many forms and the confidence to engage with music as listeners, performers, and creators throughout their lives
